Whether she’s busy in the kitchen perfecting a new recipe, tending to the garden, or setting up at local markets, Suzanne’s passion and hard work shine through in everything she does.
Behind the scenes, she keeps the wheels turning—managing store orders, coordinating inventory, and dreaming up fresh ideas to bring to the table. Her creativity and dedication are what make Simply from Scratch feel both homegrown and innovative.

Meet Lauren
Lauren is a proud co-owner of Simply from Scratch, where she primarily leads the marketing efforts and helps share the heart of SFS with the wider community. Often known as the “sous chef” behind Suzanne, she plays a key role in refining recipes and making sure every product reflects the care and quality Simply from Scratch is known for.
With a degree in agricultural education, Lauren has a passion for connecting people to their food—teaching customers not only about what’s on their plate, but also the importance of knowing how it’s grown and raised. She enjoys creating opportunities for education and connection, whether that’s through community events, conversations at the market, or sharing the Simply from Scratch story online. Lauren also works behind the scenes to plan outreach, organize the market agenda, and ensure SFS continues to grow in meaningful ways.

Meet Jim
Jim, co-owner Suzanne’s husband, plays a key role in keeping Simply from Scratch on the move—quite literally. Most often, you’ll find him behind the wheel of the grocery trucks, transporting goods to and from locations with care. His steady presence ensures SFS can reach the communities it serves, rain or shine.
Beyond driving, Jim brings his deep farming background to the team. He uses his knowledge to strengthen gardening practices, manages the sweet corn patch alongside Joel, and connects with fellow Indiana farmers to source high-quality products. His dedication to agriculture and community partnerships helps keep Simply from Scratch firmly rooted in local tradition and farm-to-table values.
Meet Joel
Joel, co-owner Lauren’s husband, wears many hats at Simply from Scratch. He can often be found maintaining the sweet corn patch, driving one of the grocery trucks, or caring for the farm’s flock of chickens, quail, and ducks. His hands-on work keeps daily operations running smoothly and ensures customers have access to the freshest products possible.
Outside of farm tasks, Joel enjoys connecting with people. Whether he’s chatting with customers about their favorite items or exploring new opportunities for growth, he’s always looking for ways to strengthen the Simply from Scratch experience. His energy and curiosity help push the business forward while keeping its roots firmly planted in community and farm-to-table values.
